Simple Yearly Archive Plugin for WordPress

The Simple Yearly Archive Plugin is extremely useful for certain uses of WordPress. I’ve just contributed a bit of code to fix the one problem I had with it, and my changes are now included in the latest version.

  1. Could you please help me. I’m trying to figure out how to exclude one category. I can’t understand the author’s instructions in German, and I don’t know how PHP works well enough to figure it out. Could you tell me exactly what to change (or where to paste what line of code) in order to get a yearly archive that excludes category #3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. Hi, Andy. I honestly don’t know. Did you scroll down to the author’s instructions in English?

  3. I figured out that I needed the Exec-PHP plugin. With that installed I can use the PHP script option and exclude categories. This was mentioned on the author’s homepage but crossed out (because it’s not necessary — unless you want to the customization options).

I’m addicted to the NYTimes maps this morning, especially the county bubble view. Hello, population distribution! It’s fascinating to compare this year to 2004.
