WordPress

The move to WordPress seems to have gone pretty smoothly. You might have seen a couple of old articles pop up three or four times, but they’ve been shoved back in the archives where they belong. The “topics” link in the nav won’t work for the moment; I’ll sort that out tonight.

That’s the fourth migration for my oldest posts. I can’t guarantee bug-free archives anymore. Complaints should be addressed to management, &c, &c…

  1. Wow, I’m impressed. You did a great job converting your design over to WordPress.

  2. Thanks. There are glitches… the sidebar link gizmo won’t let me do a second link in the description, so I can’t cite the people I’m poaching links from. And it’s introducing line breaks. Bah.

I still haven’t really figured out WP… just flying blind here….

  3. I’m thinking of moving from Textpattern to WordPress, but I’m having trouble importing my posts. I see from the WordPress blogs that at one time you had an importer, but the link now goes to a blank page. I’m moving from TP 4.0.3 to WP 2.0.1. Any advice?

Thanks very much! Great site, BTW!

  4. Nope. Mine was pretty specific to 1.5x and was really just intended to get me by until the WP team rewrote the importer. They were working on it along with the 2.0 release… if it’s still not working, I don’t know what to tell you.

  5. Thanks very much for the response. I’ve also posted on the WordPress forum, so hopefully they can help. Thanks!

I’m addicted to the NYTimes maps this morning, especially the county bubble view. Hello, population distribution! It’s fascinating to compare this year to 2004.
