Didjagetit

Now I remember why I hate submitting short fiction.

Voices in My Head (to editors): Didja get it? Didja get it? Huh? Huh?

Me (to voices): Oh, hush up. It’s probably still on the mail truck.

ViMH: But… it might be there.

Me: Zip it.

ViMH: Will they like it? It’s pretty silly, and we’re rusty at this whole short story thing… which reminds us, are you gonna work on that novel or what? Cuz we’ve been talking down here, and if you’re not gonna do that one, or the other fourteen, we have this new idea…

Me: sigh

ViMH (five minutes later): Didja get it? DIDJAGETIT??

I’m addicted to the NYTimes maps this morning, especially the county bubble view. Hello, population distribution! It’s fascinating to compare this year to 2004.
